There are regular scientific workshops organized and research grants received by the Department. Many research grants were awarded from Ukrainian Government, regional state administrations, British Council and other organisations. Scientific activity of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Safety is based on close cooperation with research institutes and centers of applied research in the field of environmental safety and the development and implementation of modern environmental resource-saving technologies.

The Department has close scientific relations with relevant educational institutions and other organizations: Vinnytsia National Medical University, institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", National University "Lviv Polytechnic", State Environmental Academy of Postgraduate Education and Management of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Donetsk National Technical University, Ternopil National Technical University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Sumy State University, National University of Water and Environment (Rivne), Karazin Kharkiv National University, National Aviation University, Zaporizhzhya National University, Odessa State Environmental University, Institute of Applied Optics Sciences of Ukraine, International NGO "Ukraine–Poland–Germany", Ukrainian Research Institute of Analytical Devices Construction" ("Ukranalit"), "Inter-Eco", foreign scientific institutions and many other leading universities and organisations.

Department of Ecology and Environmental Safety is scientific supervisor of Nature Park «Karmeliukove Podillya» (town Chechelnyk, Vinnytsia region). The Department develops recommendations and gives scientific consultations for staff of the Nature Park in the field of nature conservation, conducts joint research.

The Department also actively engages students in research conducting. Students actively participate in conferences. All students are highly recommended to present their research at conferences and have many papers published.
